Thanks for your suggestions as noted below in enlightening me as to some
methodology if I try to attempt any future downloads/updates.

To be on the safe side I'll use a sample family file so if I run amok in
your instructions I'll not loose anything!

Anyone can download the "free" version of Legacy 6 Standard on any
computer 
with an Internet connection and CD-RW or other method to move the program

file. The Deluxe version with registration number is required to get the 
smaller update files from a computer with working Internet service and 
Legacy installed.
