Susan,

I would not consider writing a letter a 'To Do" item. The "To Do" item (for me) would be to write to a certain source for certain information. The mission would not be accomplished until there was a response from the letter I had written or I gave up trying. If I did not obtain the info from this source, I would close that item and start a new "To Do" item and write to a new source.

I guess it's a matter of "whatever floats your boat".

Lewis

Well a third condition (really, the first of three) would be ToDo -
Write a letter to such-and-such. Then it is open until it is written.
Do you then close it, and create a new ToDo - Receive response to sent
letter?

I may be missing something here but what do you mean by current status? It
seems to me there would only be two conditions, received or not received.
The received are closed and those which have not been received are open.
With the filter you can select the type (Correspondence) to display and
whether you want to view open or closed tasks.
