Lewis,
The only problem with going from PDF to Text is that each line has a
hard carriage return. So that is a lot of deleting, if you don't want
those in your text.

I will give that a shot, thank you. I ended up using Microsoft Office
Document Image Writer (a "printer" set up when I installed Office),
but I then had to convert it to text using OCR, and that left a lot of
typos. I am happy to try your solution in the future.
