I suspect that part of the problem here is that  the folks complaining about 
the new features are not convinced that known bugs  are being fixed before new 
features are added.  (And you can include me in  that group.)  With respect 
to the new features, Millennia cannot please all  of the users all of the time. 
 Some of us will find new features totally  useless and other users will be 
thrilled.  But, new features are a  necessity if Millennia wants to expand its 
customer base.

The underlying  issue is the known bugs.  Are they being fixed or not?  I'd 
suggest  that Millennia is its own worst enemy in this regard.  When I read a  
summary of what a new release contains and see, "Fixed obscure bugs," or  
something similar, I'm left in a fog.

I would suggest to Millennia that  the summary for any new release should 
contain a specific description of each  bug that was fixed, no matter how 
"obscure."  This would accomplish two  tasks: (1) the person or persons who 
reported 
the bug will know the issue has  been addressed and (2) we can all be alert to 
other problems that might arise  from the fix (and that will happen) and we 
can also test the fix with our own  database.
