I suspect that part of the problem here is that the folks complaining about the new features are not convinced that known bugs are being fixed before new features are added. (And you can include me in that group.) With respect to the new features, Millennia cannot please all of the users all of the time. Some of us will find new features totally useless and other users will be thrilled. But, new features are a necessity if Millennia wants to expand its customer base.
The underlying issue is the known bugs. Are they being fixed or not? I'd suggest that Millennia is its own worst enemy in this regard. When I read a summary of what a new release contains and see, "Fixed obscure bugs," or something similar, I'm left in a fog. I would suggest to Millennia that the summary for any new release should contain a specific description of each bug that was fixed, no matter how "obscure." This would accomplish two tasks: (1) the person or persons who reported the bug will know the issue has been addressed and (2) we can all be alert to other problems that might arise from the fix (and that will happen) and we can also test the fix with our own database.
