Let's try this again...perhaps my first message was misaddressed since
it was never posted (yes, it was in plain text)...

I'm about to enter the world of sound using Legacy by adding digitized
voice recordings. Hopefully before too long I will also go down the
video road.

I have just finished re-recording all my old cassette tapes into a new
digital recorder and have uploaded these new files into my computer.
They are all .WMA files. I also have the needed plug-in to convert .WMA
files to .MP3 format if necessary.

However.if I understand Legacy correctly, the only sound files I can use
with it are .WAV format. Is this correct? Does anyone know of a common
way to convert .WMA or .MP3 files to .WAV? Or is there another work
around. Can anyone comment on the advantages/disadvantages of either of
these 3 sound formats?

What Legacy provides is a great resource. I'm finding myself though
having to become proficient in areas I've not otherwise had much
experience...image files, sound files, video files, pdf files. All
good.

Thanks again for your advice.
