Thanks Jim,

I originally entered Danish census records under a "Census" event with just the year for date as at the time that was all the smarter I was. I have since encountered a web-page that provides the actually date of the census each year and want to upgrade my data to include the month.

I did a trial run with the year 1787, searching for 1787 in the Event-Dates and replacing with Jul 1787. I checked only Exact and Replace entire field. I had one mis-hit (an event not Census). I did a run with 1801 and had several mis-hits. I realized that as I came forward into more recent history, the number of mis-hits were going to grow to where they would be too much to deal with and could corrupt my dates in other events.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks, Don

P.S. I don't have Access and don't plan on going there! Don

There is no direct way (that I can find) to limit search/replace to
tagged or focus groups. Turning it around, if you can explain what
you're trying to accomplish, we might come up with another approach to
accomplish it.

It would be convenient to be able to restrict a requested Search &
Replace to apply only to a previously tagged group or focus group.

Perhaps the opportunity already exists?

Thanks, Don
