Note that you can order a booklet  from the SSA that gives more detail.  
However, where a SSN was issued does  not necessarily reveal where a person was 
born or lived.  For example, I  was born in North Dakota, live in Minnesota and 
my SSN was issued in ND!   In other words, the SSN will only tell you where 
the card was issued, not where  the person was born or lived.
 
Additionally, the "last residence" on the SSDI only reports the last  
residence of the deceased, not where the person died.  For example, someone  
living 
in Moorhead, Minnesota might have died across the river in Fargo, North  
Dakota.  So we must be careful in drawing conclusions from the  SSDI.
