I am proposing a method be designed to record the provenance of family
heirlooms and other property. I am curious who among the group may find
this useful.

Perhaps the suggestion has been previously submitted in some form and
either shelved or denied. But it may be time to revisit the concept. I
realize there are "bugs" needing work before new ideas are developed,
but ideas are needed too to keep Legacy viable.

Here is the proposal. Please comment whether you would find this
feature as useful as I would. It may help the Legacy developers decide
its relative merit. Potential problems are also welcome.

1. I propose development of a screen/table permitting the basic tracking
of family heirlooms and property. The data captured could include
photograph, date obtained (either originally or by current possessor),
original purchase price, condition, description, current value (with "as
of" date), and location.

2. Linking heirlooms to individuals would be accomplished in much the
same manner as photographs or sources. The difference being heirlooms
could be linked with either individuals (by RIN) or marriages (by MRIN).
An option must exist to also delink the heirloom from either RIN or
MRIN.

3. This linking would be accomplished each time the heirloom/property
changes hands within the family. Thus, data in this area must be able
to accumulate.

4. Reports would provide the history of linkages and include options to
include data captured in paragraph one.

5. Preferably this feature would be incorporated within Legacy rather
than a separate Add-On program. But either would prove useful in
providing a complete record of a repeat family event, the provenance of
treasured family heirlooms and property.
