One thin you might want to do: Install V. 5 in a new location. Then install V. 6 in the default location. As there won't be many if any more updates to V. 5, this should solve your streamlined approach for V. 6.
As for the "Cartoony" look, I never had a problem with it. I adapted fine after about 5 minutes.<hehe> I am not a shy computer user. I jumped all over the 6.0.0.99 update as soon as I received the email message that it was available. If I run into problems and report them early, hopefully it will make others experiences with Legacy more pleasant. I speak for myself when I offer a "Virtual standing ovation" to the programmers for all their hard work. They definitely deserve praise for their efforts and excellent product. I have done software development in the past. It isn't easy (virtually impossible) to please everyone. So in speaking for myself, they have definitely pleased me since I found Legacy. I have expressed this sentiment to them privately and in this forum in the past and will say it again. I don't keep track of what "Public" release we are on or what features they released that I don't (currently) use. I just applaud their efforts in everything they do. Keep bringing on new features that will help those who need them. If they offend some, that can't be helped. So - Susan, happy upgrading. I wonder how many of you who hated the "cartoony" look have gotten used to the icons and the way the software handles? I plan to produce a family report at the end of the summer, and am looking forward to enhanced book reporting. I know I could download Standard Version of Legacy 6, but I really hate to have to manually pick a new location. I prefer streamlined downloading and overriding of older versions. Am I being too cautious? Should I bite the bullet and try manually installing version 6 elsewhere on my laptop? (There are instructions in the archives, I know.) I don't wish to start a pros and cons thread - I just wanted to know if Version 6 grows on you or not!
