I do not fully share the view that this is a good approach, but I recognize that my views are in the minority. :) Regarding the first point, there actually are no true unambiguous mappings from Callaway to SPDX. As I see it, in some (maybe even many) cases, what a Callaway name applies to (under a "correct" application of the associated legacy Fedora guidelines) may coincide reasonably closely to what we are saying an SPDX expression applies to. The point may be more significant. Under the Callaway system there was a confusing set of guidelines that seemed to both embrace and reject the notion of an "effective license". We have u rejected the concept of the effective license (except possibly in some extreme scenarios) > > > On Feb 17, 2023, at 11:39 AM, Miro Hrončok <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > On 11. 02. 23 14:52, Miroslav Suchý wrote: > >> * 8795 tags can be trivially converted using `license-fedora2spdx` > > > > Whenever I update a package to a new version etc. I look at the license > tag and update it to SPDX when possible.
