Juergen, ahh, definitely a misunderstanding on my part; for some reason I thought that the LEGO NXT was going to have more memory than this. It's a shame, as the price of memory being so low means the additional cost of production to give the NXT realistic memory would be negligble. The solution we're using on the Sun SPOT is an Atmel product that provides an ARM core, RAM and FLASH in a single package.
I'll talk to the people in Sun Labs to see whether there is some way to collaborate on this.
