Dear All,
I've been following the vision tutorial on the following webpage:-
http://lejos.sourceforge.net/tutorial/vision/index.html
I've managed to get the example Motion detection application working
with a creative camera I own :-). However I really want to use the lego
Vision Command camera instead.
The problem is that the lego camera never appears in the devices listed
by the JMF Registry program. My actual list is:-
vfw:CreativeWebCamNotebook (VFW):0
DirectSoundCapture
JavaSound audio capture
If I press the "Detect Capure Devices" button then no further
applications are found. If I run the "jmfinit.exe" app, as suggested by
the tutorial then I get the following output:-
Found device Creative WebCam Notebook (VFW)
Querying edvice. Please wait...
Found device Microsoft WDM Image Capture (WIN32)
Querying device. Please wait...
then the program hangs.
I can see output from the lego camera by clicking on control panel->
"Scanners and Cameras"->"Logitech QuickCam Web" so the lego camera is
connected+working.
I was wondering whether the problem lies with JMF trying to use a WDM
device (in this case the lego camera) instead of a VFW device (i.e. the
creative camera). I read on web page somewhere of a "JMF-WDM bridge",
which works with win2000 and earlier but not winxp.
Is the current version of JMF currently meant to be working with winXP +
WDM as suggested in the tutorial? Or have I done something wrong here?
Many thanks if anyone can help,
David
ps I am currently using the lejos2.1 release
