Hi Shannon, I had some problems with my Logitech Bluetooth dongle which uses the Logitech Bluetooth solution (not the default Windows XP solution). I was messing around with COM ports with Bluetooth and it stopped working for me, and I think it's because I added COM ports to the list of services for the NXT. If you try to use "My Bluetooth Places" to connect to the NXT, once it shows a connection you can no longer connect properly using the default Lego software (it says "line in use" or something like that).
To get rid of the COM service, right click My Bluetooth Places and select Advanced Configuration. Under the Local Services and Client Applications tabs see if there are any COM ports set up (says COM4, COM6 or something next to them). If you see any COM's delete them (you can readd them later if need be). Turn off your NXT and try rebooting your computer. Once rebooted, turn on your NXT, then launch the Lego software and start/load a program, then click on the NXT brick icon and see if it will connect. As a last resort, you might want to uninstall your dongle manufacturer's Bluetooth software and go with the default Windows XP solution. The "enhanced" Logitech solution sometimes seems flaky and I'm guessing the native XP solution is more stable. - Brian ----- Original Message ----- From: "Moon, Shannon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, July 10, 2006 8:46 AM Subject: Re: [Lejos-discussion] Clicking Brick and Bluetooth > There is a posted suggested solution for fixing the "clicking brick" > problem www.thenxtstep.blogspot.com, which I included below. > It worked for me. > > It seems like a lot of people are having issues with Bluetooth and NXT. > Even using the XP SP2 Bluetooth stack, I can't seem to get > connected to a Brick within the NXT application environment... it can > see my bricks within the app, but can't connect within the app. Anyone > have a particular bluetooth dongle that has worked for them?
