Matthias,
This weekend, with the help of several others, I've actually managed to use lejos 2.1.0 on Mac OS X 10.4.7 with Intel Core Duo. Not all of the tools work (for example, emulators) but the essentials do:
lejosfirmdl
lejosc
lejos
lejosrun
Bare bones, but enough to get Java programs compiled and onto the brick. I've not tested this beyond a few of the example source files that are provided with the distribution, but those that I've tried to run on the brick compile, download to the brick and execute.
To make this happen, I needed to download the (free) upgrade of Xcode 2.4 from the Apple Developer Connection at
http://developer.apple.com/tools/download/
Then several of the Makefiles had to be modified; and wonderfully - hELLo uorLD - it works! I'll put together a set of explicit instructions that might be of use to others who are in the same situation.
I don't expect this to be backwards compatible with older versions of OS X. The documentation on the Apple site specifies that the Xtools upgrade is only for OS X 10.4.x which leads me to believe that it won't be a solution for Macintosh OS X users with earlier releases of OS X. I also don't know what features of lejos I might still find to not be working, but I've got enough functionality that I can use the system for my intended immediate purposes.
