Roger, I've looked into the code and it seems as if the "verbosing" has been removed from the sources in question by someone in summer 2004 (after the 2.1.0 release, that is) indeed (see http://lejos.cvs.sourceforge.net/lejos/lejos/src/java/tools/js/tinyvm/); as far as I can see, it has not been reactivated and gone unnoticed since then, at least unmentioned.
Well, that's actually irritating and some thing that seems another example of the leJOS code's dissipation in between that gave rise to a bunch of work for leJOS 3.0 yet. I'm going to see what can be done about it.
