The Oct 2 issue of InformationWeek has an article on page 23 about a miniature computer from a company called Gumstix that is the size of a stick of gum, runs Linux, has 64MB, 200 Mhz Intel XScale motherboard, and costs just $165. Why doesn't the NXT have this kind of memory. Then I was wondering whether it would be feasible to incorporate this device onto an NXT robot, letting the NXT handle all the low-level device level stuff, but put the higher intelligence in the Gumstix device. If Gumstix supported Bluetooth, that could solve the connectivity problem, as I don't know of a way to go between the Gumstix ethernet and the NXT. Any thoughts?
