I am selling a 17" Apple Studio Display which is exhibiting all the signs of the infamous failed inverter board. The display powers up and functions, but the top half is much more dim than the bottom half. It is usable, but annoying. Also, the power light blinks, which can be distracting.
A replacement inverter board can be found online (new) for $109. There are pictorial guides in various places online that show how to replace the board. It's not hard to do. Also, I have heard that if you are good with a soldering iron and a multimeter, and if you have access to two of these bad inverter boards, then it's possible to combine components to make one good board. That is beyond my skill (or patience) level, but maybe it's just the right project for you. I will sell the entire display for $50 plus cost of shipping (your choice of shipping method) from Austin, TX. Or, if you just want the bad inverter board out of it to try to salvage, I will pull it for you and send it for $30 shipped. Cosmetically this display is in decent shape.
