Hey, listers... thought I would see if anyone was interested in my
recent collection of PowerBook Duo's and gear. I got excited about
making a nice, light word processing machine last year and have been
ramping up the energy more recently. I realized yesterday that I just
don't have the time to make it all happen. If there's anything you'd
like, let me know. I'd be influenced to cut a deal for someone who
wanted the whole pack. Prices do not include shipping - whatever the
straight charge is from my place to yours:

1. PowerBook Duo 210 ($20) - working well upgraded to OS 7.6.1, 24 MB
RAM, I think a 120 GB hard drive, and a new CMOS battery. Comes with
power cord. Computer is in good condition with both rear feet intact
(wasn't that a great design?).

2. PowerBook Duo 280 ($10) - not sure what it has. Powers up, but only
an inch or two at the top of the screen are clear and intelligible. I
assume it's a screen problem, but I don't know. I can get the cursor
to show up and move, but the hard drive (which is spinning) never
seems to bring up an OS. Might just need to be reformatted with a new
installation. Can't see to tell. Comes with the Apple unit going to
the computer, but not the standard, black wall attachment of the power
cord. I do have a brand new CMOS battery for this, but as the computer
wasn't fully functional - it hasn't been installed. The body of the
computer itself is in excellent condition.

3. A "brand new" (rebuilt) PowerBook Duo battery ($30). I'm not sure
how long it lasts, but at least several hours on the 210. Just paid to
have it professionally done - warranteed for a year (from the
company).

4. A new Asante Desktop EN/SC ($20). I opened the shrinkwrapped box to
test it, so I know it's new. I also bought an HDI30 adapter for the
dock, so it plugs right in. This is one of the hard-to-find ethernet
boxes that doesn't require external power. I was actually able to surf
the web plugged directly into my Airport Base Station.

5. A new Apple M1812 battery recharger ($5). Again, I opened the
package.

6. (2) HDI20 Apple floppy drives ($5 each). Both seem to work fine,
though I've had a bit of a hard time getting a few of my old, poorly
stored disks to read. Both drives, however, struggle with the same
disks - so I think it's an old disk problem.

7. An Apple Duo MiniDock ($10). Doesn't have ethernet, hence the
Asante purchase - but works perfectly.

8. A DuoDock II ($10). No power cord, but seller told me it worked
well. I also have another one that I purchased first that came in
terrible external shape - included free for parts.

9. Dead batteries (free - for shipping). I was also going to rebuild
my own battery. Got a nice Ni-Cd rechargeable internal battery - but
really, I don't even know how to solder. What was I thinking?

10. Perhaps the crown jewel - a brand new (unopened) CF-PowerMonster
2.5" SCSI Converter Kit ($75). This converts the old laptop SCSI drive
mount into a CompactFlash compatible mount. Obviously, another part of
the plan that I just don't have time for. I have a 4 GB CF-card on
order that should work - an extra $25 if you want me to throw that in.

11. Also just picked up an Apple video to VGA cable ($5) so I could
run the DuoDocks to my monitor.

12. An Apple twisted pair transceiver (5) to add ethernet to the AAUI
connection on the DuoDock II.

I think that's it. Would make a nice PowerBook Duo system (or two) if
you have the time and inclination to put it all together. I prefer
PayPal, but checks are fine if you don't mind waiting for them to
clear my end.

Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking!
