PowerBook G3 Pismo 400MHz PowerPC G3 Processor 640MB (128MB PC100 and 512MB PC133) SDRAM 20GB Toshiba Ultra ATA Hard Drive DVD-ROM AirPort card 45W "Yo-Yo" AC Adapter
Particularly: Case in very good condition--a few very tiny scratches but overall clean and well preserved. Keyboard has no rubbed off letters. LCD very good, no dead pixels. Battery effectively dead-- holds charge for 5 minutes. PRAM battery good, however. To give a sense of its performance capacity, it is currently running OS X 10.4.11 and has no trouble with applications like the iWork '08 suite, Final Cut Pro 3 or the Adobe Creative Suite programs. In General: The G3 screen proportions are better suited for webpage display and word processing than than any PowerBook G4. With its foresighted DVD drive FireWire ports, support for 1GB RAM, and the ease with which the CPU can be upgraded to 500MHz, the Pismo is still viable in terms of current computing needs and tastes. The other reason why the Pismo remains in use is its stability and reliability as a system. It seemingly has no signature "issues": no bad logic boards, no broken hinges, no white spots on the LCD, no defective battery, and no bad lower RAM slot. In fact, the Pismo has to rank among the best computers Apple ever made, given its 9-year record of rock-solid dependability, which in turn explains the loyalty of its user base.
