I've got a custom made external enclosure with a 1.5TB drive installed. It
isn't pretty from the back, I took an old LaCie case and cut the back open and
replaced the guts with a 1.5TB drive and a LaCie Quad interface bridge board.
Works flawlessly, drive is less than 2 weeks old. From the front it looks like
every other LaCie drive you have ever seen. Just a square cutout on the back.
No fans, silent enclosure. $115 plus shipping.
