I bought this as a sealed retail package from an online seller, but due to licensing issues Apple has in North Carolina I can't register it with Apple for my iPod Touch. Per my conversations with AppleCare support, it is valid in any state *other* than NC. I'd be happy to forward my email conversation with Apple to the buyer.
