Greetings swappers! I have available a G3 iBook that has the video chip issue. This is one that a friend brought to me, and I ended up helping her out with a G4.
This iBook may be a good candidate for the shim method. I can apply pressure on the left side below the keyboard, and it works fine. I noticed after it has warmed up a while, it may go some time without applying pressure. So someone out there might be able to squeeze a little more life out of it. It is a 900MHz G3, with 128MB, and a 40GB hard drive. No airport, battery, power supply, or additional memory. The hard drive will be wiped. How about $40 OBO shipped anywhere in the continental USA?
