My wife recently completed a lengthy series of medical treatments and I would like to surprise her with a MacBook Air. I know that these are not necessarily favorites of Mac aficionados, but it would suit her use, as we will soon ship my daughter off to school and the isight camera with skype will be helpful to her.
A refurbed, 2009 model with a 13.3" screen, 2 GB of RAM and a 120 GB drive is $849 at the online Apple store. Before I take the plunge, I would strongly consider any offers on one of these in similar to Apple refurb condition at a price that would save me some cash. I am sure you can appreciate that if the savings was minimal, with Apple also offering a warranty, that the Apple store would be the way to go. I might also consider offers on a similar vintage MacBook Pro, and would again use the Apple store prices on a refurb unit as my guide. My preference will be to deal with swappers with a track record and feedback on this one. Don Salata Canton MI 48187 -- You received this message because you are a member of the LEM Swap group.
