My trusty dusty iMac got a line a few months ago...then it got three a
couple of weeks ago. Then it got two more in the last two days. It has
the mini monitor port on the back and I figure I can mirror the monitor
and maybe cut the power, but if I can get an LCD for less than the arm
and leg I'm seeing it would be nice.
Anyone know what makes this LCD incompatible with other 17' iMacs? It's
a shame they don't make new and improved parts for older Macs, because
it's plenty fast for me. Are replacement screens susceptible to the same
problem?
I've got some older towers-a MDD 1.25 dual with a blown PS, a Performa
6200-200 (with the weird top), ends and odds...even the mezzanine card
and installer disk I bought for the 13th Bondi iMac sold by Club Mac is
around here somewhere. (I ordered it a month and a half before they
shipped-in case Apple went under.) Let me know
Info and offers are welcome. If the plugs fit I can drill holes or use
duct tape. This iMac isn't leaving here alive, I could mat and frame an
LCD if it worked.
