Greetings, Swappers: This is an update of two PowerBooks that should be treated as parts machines. Please negotiate with me to ensure these do not wind up in a landfill. These are from ZIP code 29201, where the next stop for these Macs are the local Freecycle group, whose recipients will prolly trash them because they accept Macs but don't know what to do with legacy machines. PowerBook 170 Now will not boot, since the installed mobo will not recharge battery due to bad charger tip (I am too burned out to re-install the working mobo)... It boots into OS 9.2.2. flawlessly and OS X 10.4.11 (SAFE MODE ONLY) .. and will operate well until it freezes ~30 minutes into usage on OS 9.2.2. Includes usual ports, including two USB, one 400 FireWire, installed modem, installed Airport (not Extreme) card, and external video. The display, which has usual keyboard marks, is actually pretty damn good!! The hinges are STRONG!!!
