Greetings,
For your consideration, I have a scratch and dent 17" MacBook Pro
(early 2008/Pennryn BTO) for sale. This machine came to me in pieces, however
it runs perfectly, albeit with a less than ideal physical appearance. The case
screws are missing (I can put in different screws, but they are not going to be
the nice finish screws that these came with from the factory. All panels are
included (top case, display, memory, hard drive, ram cover, optical drive,
etc.). The battery holds a charge for at least an hour. I never ran it
unplugged for longer than that - as it isn't something I would consider to be
terribly lap friendly. If anything, it has lived on my desk. The screen is
bright and beautiful, the backlighting for the keyboard works well, as does the
trackpad.
Since the computer was dropped at one point, the previous owner tried
to use it as a laptop, it has dents, scratches, and the hinge is messed up
(it's over extended). Everything on the computer works perfectly. As a laptop -
I wouldn't consider it to be a candidate for that (then again, I wouldn't
consider any 17" PBG4/MBP to be a good laptop). As a small all in one desktop
that you can lock in a desk drawer - it's awesome. Below are the specs.
17" MacBook Pro (early 2008)
2.6 ghz. Core 2 Duo
4gb of PC 5300 ram (2x 2gb memory modules)
200gb hard drive
512mb Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT
17" 1920x1200 LED backlit display
8X DL SuperDrive
DOES NOT COME WITH A POWER ADAPTER
It basically has every option available, except for a larger hard
drive. It's a great computer, I've put it through its paces and wouldn't
hesitate to depend on it as a daily use desktop machine. I just wouldn't use it
as a portable due to it's unwieldy size and the hinge issue/dents. (a 15" MBP
is as large as I'm willing to go).
Here's the specs on everymac.com

I'm looking to get $550 for it shipped. Of course, I am negotiable on
price. No power adapter will be included. Shipping will be via UPS Ground and
will be insured. I accept paypal, United States Post Office Money orders, or
cash (local pick up only). I can meet up with anyone within a 25 mile radius of
downtown Pittsburgh.
