I have 3 Acer Slim Firewire 400 External Combo Optical Drives (DVD reader, CD read+write). Nice silver color (painted plastic) that closely matches Apple's anodized aluminum.
Models EOSD-0CP and EOSD-0CL All 3 tested and fully working. For each: burned CD on 10.8 MacBook Pro, booted OS9 on Powerbook G3, booted 10.5 PowerMac G4. No drivers included, but none seemed to be needed. Apple's DVD App may not work with this, but free VLC player works fine. If you need me to test something specific like Mac OS version or software, just let me know. I have everything from OS9 and 10.0 Beta–10.5 PPC, 10.6–10.8 Intel.
