I’ve got a few laptops for sale, all in good working condition:
900mhz iBook G3 - the last and most powerful G3 computer ever made, and one of the last to boot natively into OS 9. This computer works well and looks pretty good for an iBook. The one major cosmetic defect is that the case is mismatched, the palm rest, base, and optical drive are the silver/translucent white of the earlier 800mhz iBooks while the lid, screen bezel, and port bezel is the correct light gray/opaque white. This doesn’t affect functionality in any way, but a serious collector might be bothered by it. Everything works perfectly, the screen is very bright, and the battery lasts quite a while (it played a DVD for an hour and a half) although the battery level indicator in Mac OS X is off (once it gets down to 50% it suddenly drops to zero) and it does take a while to charge. 900mhz G3, 128mb RAM, 30gb HD, Combo Drive. $55 shipped or best offer. 500mhz PowerBook G4 - this is a decent TiBook that could be used as-is or restored to perfection. The bottom has quite a few scuffs but the inside is near-mint. The screen looks beautiful and as far as I can tell the hinges are in good condition. The battery lasts 30-45 minutes, depending on use. It is missing some screws from the bottom, and the speakers could be replaced (only the right one works, and it is a bit distorted). Apart from that it works well. 500mhz G3, 256mb RAM, 40gb HD, DVD-ROM. $55 shipped or best offer. PLEASE NOTE: neither of the above come with power adapters, although I could throw in a third party Macally adapter that sort of works for free (it sometimes cuts out). Also, if you want both I’ll do $95 shipped with the Macally adapter and one AirPort card thrown in. I also have a beautiful 1.42ghz iBook G4 14”, the last and best iBook ever made. It works great and comes with the original box with all paperwork and accessories and most of the original packaging. I really hate to sell it but I think someone else could probably get more use out of it and I could use the money. There are a few flaws that keep this from being 100% mint, but they don’t really detract from the experience: first, I think it might need a new power board, since it refuses to run unless the battery is installed (luckily this is the easiest part to replace on these models). Also, it is missing one of the lid bumpers and might be missing one foot (I still may be able to find that, since it was still on just a few weeks ago). The box looks great, except that there is a chunk missing from one side (where the barcodes and serial number were). Also, the second install disk has trouble installing, I don’t know if a disk polisher would fix this or not. Finally, the battery doesn’t really last very long, maybe 30 minutes at the most, although I haven’t really tested it that much. Apart from all that, it works great, and it still looks amazing for its age. 1.42ghz G4, 1gb RAM, 40gb HD, SuperDrive, AirPort Extreme, Bluetooth. I’d like to get $200 shipped, but I am definitely open to offers. And finally, I have what has to be the world’s only high-res 17” 1.33ghz PowerBook G4. I won’t put the full description here, since I kind of doubt there would be much interest at my asking price, but the basics are 1680x1050 screen, 320gb HD, and almost all parts replaced in 2009 or 2010 by Apple or an authorized service center. Feel free to ask for more information. $250 shipped, firm. I’ve got a number of other things available as well, mostly monitors (20” ADC Cinema Display, 19” 1440x900 VGA monitor, 17” 1600x900 LED-backlit DVI monitor, 17” CRT and LCD Studio displays), a parts Sawtooth, Mac OS X 10.3.0 Panther (complete except for the box), and a battery-powered HP inkjet printer, let me know if you want to hear more about any of them. As I said, feel free to make an offer on anything except the 17”, and I’d be willing to do a discount on combined items. I also might take a trade, the main things I’m looking for at the moment are a 500gb or larger 2.5” SSHD, working 85w MagSafe power adapter (any brand), or a 4gb stick of PC2-5300 laptop RAM, but feel free to ask if you’ve got something else in mind. I only accept PayPal, unless you are in Houston in which case I would accept cash. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more information or pictures of anything.
