First-model PowerBook G4 400 MHz Titanium, a.k.a. M5884, PowerBook3,2, PowerPC G4 (11.2) 384 MB RAM, 10 GB HD Dead main battery.
Given to me back in 2010. At that time, it ran, albeit with intermittent issues with both AirPort and Ethernet, each of which worked for a time then stopped, then occasionally worked again. Surprisingly good cosmetic condition: a few scratches and the left side bumper from screen to main bottom has decayed, a bit of dirt on the palm rest area, otherwise it looks near new. No visible sign of damage on the hinges, which work fine. Back in 2010 when it ran, i noted one bad pixel on the screen, in the center slightly above middle height. DVD drive seemed very stiff when injecting discs, but ejected smoothly. Other functions i tested at that time worked OK, including the PRAM battery (though i make no guarantee that this is true today). Didn’t need it, set it aside. Now, it will not even power on (tried 2 different power adapters, key combinations i read about online, etc.). I am so over these older models that i’m selling it as-is for parts: asking $5 for the machine, or $10 for the machine + original hockey puck power adapter. Shipping not included. As always, local pick-up is welcomed/encouraged. I may consider parting it out if no one will take the whole unit. Please specify whether or not you want the dead main battery. (I would guess that most people would want to save shipping and not want to dispose of it, but some people might want to rebuild it or have the visual integrity for a museum display, or want the extra protection for the battery compartment during shipping.)
