Recently I had a user contact me about an item for sale.

They did not send money as a PayPal Gift as requested, and also requested I
insure it for 2x the cost they are paying.

Having been a victim of buyer's fraud before I just wanted to point out to the
community some red flags to watch out for:

1) In an environment such as this with no seller protections, a PayPal gift is
the best way to transact. A buyer has 180 days to make a claim on a "regular
purchase otherwise - and you are out the money.

2) Insuring for more than the sale price raises red flags about insurance
fraud. There is no other reason or motivation for this.

3) Ultimately: the scammer wins and we all lose, and the reputation of the
community is damaged.

Happy swapping!
