Hi Swappers, I have a Late 2008 era 15" MacBook Pro. This is the first of the unibody MacBooks with a 2.53 GHz Core 2 duo, NVIDIA 9400M integrated graphics, and NVIDIA 9600M switchable discrete graphics. Has a glossy 15" display, 1440x900. Overall, it's in pretty good shape. The display is working but has a small white spot on the LCD inside the glass (on the actual panel).
The big problem with this MacBook is that the switching graphics does not work. The MacBook will not switch over to the discrete 9600M card. I've tried using El Capitan and Lion, both to no avail, so it's most likely a hardware issue. Otherwise, the laptop seems to work fine on the integrated 9400M graphics. Boots from the internal drive, can max out at 10.11 El Capitan. I'm selling this laptop "as-is" for anyone out there that wants to either repair it or use it for parts. I've got a backlog of projects so I'm triaging things and offloading this one to the next person. Comes with 2 GB DDR3 8500 memory and a working battery. No hard drive and no charger. $120 shipped in CONUS. PayPal preferred. Pictures of everything are available on request, as always.
