This is one of the macs affected by the graphics card issue. Got the logic board replaced by Apple maybe a year ago, and it the graphics chip has failed again (predictably). Apple is no longer offering to cover the logic board replacement under warranty. So…while this is a fantastic machine that would probably have another 2-4 years of useful life, it is destined to be a parts machine. Actually, it does work from time to time…I was able to fire it up and take a bunch of screenshots and photos of it working (see link below). But as soon as it starts working harder and switches graphics chips, it will crash and be unable to start back up. I know there are a variety of DIY fixes out there, some of which have a certain level of success, but that’s not in the cards while I have this machine.
