This iBook is immaculate. It was recently dismantled for a thorough cleaning. They keyboard was new Oct 2016. The screen hinges are tight and in perfect working condition. That's because I've never flexed the screen by grasping it from the top of the screen. I pivot the screen open and closed near the hinges. Both screen bumpers are still in place, as are the base feet. Signs of considerate handling.
I chose to own the 1.2 because it has the best track record. Other versions have suffered failures to no fault of users. The 60GB HD is partitioned into 5GB for OS 9 and 10.4. The 50GB partition has 10.5.8 installed. All OS's are current with updates. Both partitions are loaded with apps and fun games. There are two good batteries. One last an hour and the other an hour and a half. The LCD was replaced new around 4-5 years ago. It's bright, clear, without pixel issues or bruises. It's perfect. The laptop has been used perhaps 100 hours in the past 4-5 years. The case is immaculate with only very light surface scratches common to plastics. There are no dents, cracks, or anything else indicating poor handling. Wifi works very well thanks to a n-rated USB module. When starting the laptop wifi immediately connects to a internet source. Ethernet also works. The optical drive reads and writes both CD's and DVD's. The trackpad features finger scroll and tapping. This may be one of the last babied 14" G4 iBooks around.
