I recently picked up a 2012 15-inch Retina MBP that had only ever been used as a desktop, so the owner didn't even know it had the screen ghosting issue (*really*. The battery had less than 30 cycles). The picture wasn't horrible, and overall the lame "use the screensaver" Apple solution worked well enough. It was annoying, but still useable.
I went ahead and replaced it this week. I still have the original assembly, no damage other than some of the rubber at the top of the screen deteriorated (I expect from being in clamshell mode for 6 years). If you already have one of these machines, but with so much ghosting you can't use it, this could be a cheap (albeit imperfect) solution. $75 shipped in the CONUS Coming from Greenfield, Massachusetts 01301 -Matthew Wright -- You received this message because you are a member of the LEM Swap group.
