Description of malfunction as posted in LEM G4 Powerbook Forum

 

At first the entire screen went sort of psychedelic, with variable oil 
slick or vertical lines. Later, when I tested it, the desktop was visible 
and even windows readable but significant distortion and off colors. 
At one point, the entire thing became instantly clear (i.e. normal) and 
then blip 
back to distortions. Odd. 

The start up screen i.e. apple logo with start up wheel looks normal.
