Folks, I have a 2010 iMac I have tricked out for self-amusement:
iMac 11,3 Cosmetically in truly excellent condition. Quad-core i7 repasted with Thermal Grizzly paster(I can include the pulled i5 if you want it) 32 Gb 1333mhz DDR3 Ram Graphics upgraded to GeForce GTX 765M, repasted and freshly thermal padded. (see https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/2011-imac-graphics-card-upgrade.1596614/ for the current minor downsides of this mod) Running a 2.5 TB Fusion made up of a 500g Samsung 850 evo and a 2TB Seagate FireCuda (ST2000LX001) Superdrive still installed and working - using a power splitter and ran a 2nd sata cable from the bottom of the board No thermal sensor for either of these drives so this requires MacsFanControl Used dosdude1's Catalina Patcher to get 10.15.3 running on it but I think everything would be easier to manipulate on High Sierra, especially if you plan on Bootcamping. Based on this experience I will install High Sierra and build the fusion drive for the buyer. It's really fun and surprisingly fast but I have mostly wound up using it as an external monitor via LunaDisplay (Monitor mode not currently supported by nVidia mod) and that seems like a waste. In full disclosure this iMac has been opened at least a dozen times and taken down to bare metal twice for the GPU and CPU upgrades. $300 OBO. Probably pickup only as shipping would be ridiculous on it but if you have to have it let me know and we'll work something out. If you need an Apple (double AA) bluetooth keyboard and/or 1st gen magic trackpad I can include those for $25 each. I can send video of the functioning system to the prospective pickup/buyer and take paypal for social distancing purposes since no one should be having direct contact at this time.
