Hi Friends, I truly hope all you Mac Buddies are doing well and holding it together in all the necessary ways.
I’ve finally unpacked a late-2009 27” iMac I purchased from one of the Greats of our list in early 2016, and found it to be working perfectly. Now that I’m examining it more closely, I see it has a problem which I’m sure wasn’t noticed by the person who kindly set it up for me, and for which there’s probably a ready solution. I just don’t know it. It’s an iMac 10,1 Late-2009 27” 3.33MHz Core 2 Duo Special Order unit, running a new installation by the seller of OS X High Sierra 10.13.6. The Finder window arrangement is missing things, scrambled, simply out of what I perceive to be a normal interface with this computer which I would expect. For example, I cannot find its internal startup hard drive. Nor the Pictures folder, the Documents Folder, Music Folder, Movies, Desktop, Downloads, my administrator account icon, etc. When I do find one or another of them, they appear to be buried in irregular places. I imagine the seller never noticed this when clearing it and setting it up for me. Do you know of any (hopefully simple) way to re-establish Apple’s default Finder window arrangement and normal, orderly contents?
