I bought this a few years ago. It was sold as not charging the battery. It still doesn't. I replaced the battery connector cable to no avail. I believe the issue is in the logic board. I inspected the logic board, top and bottom, with a magnifying glass for a sign of what's wrong. NADA. BTW: no liquid has ever entered the laptop. That I'm positive of.
The battery is dead. I checked it with another A1181 which charges batteries. The battery is d-e-a-d. With all that said, the laptop works just fine on AC (not included) so it's good from that standpoint. The case is nearly perfect. There are the usual chip-outs on the palmrest. I put a 60GB hard drive in it.
