Greetings all,
A colleague of mine asked for me to investigate her MacBook (white 2009 model A1181 - specs for this would be at EveryMac: https://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook-core-2-duo-2.13-white-13-mid-2009-nvidia-specs.html ) While the unit itself was in very great condition, sadly it has suffered a failed backlight, and everything on display is in pitch-dark status (unless you shine a strong headlamp onto the screen or attach an external display). The owner is not interested in repairing the unit and has given me permission to sell the unit as is or part out, so here we are. The body is in excellent condition, and all other components of the unit appear in excellent functioning condition as well, including all ports and the DVD drive. Installed is 4 GB (2+2) of matching PC2-6400 RAM from Data Memory Systems. The battery is a replacement, a NewerTech battery that still holds a full charge. Cycle count = 166, and full charge peaks at 5794 mAh (out of 5855 mAh). Keyboard is hale, it and the trackpad are fully functional. The top case suffers the typical chipped palm-rest area on the right side, but this too is light. As mentioned, the optical drive is also functional. The unit has always been lightly used in a smoke-free environment. This is a very clean unit, (imho) worth repairing with a new display, or amputate to run headless with an external display. OR, a single-source solution for a bevy of great parts for rebuilding other units. This MacBook will be sent with a courtesy hard drive of 60Gb with a fresh install of Yosemite, for verification purposes. An inexpensive yet efficient shell casing and keyboard protector will be included in the sale (hope you like orange! :-\ Also included is an Apple Mini-DVI to VGA adapter I can flat-rate this via USPS priority to anywhere in the US for a little over $16.00 (current USPS rate), and will ask only $40.00 OBO for the cost. If no takers, I will likely part out and offer at reasonable rates. Shipping will be from Fort Wayne, IN 46807 Thank you very much for the consideration. Regards, Dana (Collins - Ft.
