News reports had stated that Taliban POWs were being executed even
before the event at "Qalai Janghi, the old mud-walled fort outside
Mazar-i-Sharif." Yet the 29 November article in _Independent_ made
absolutely no connection between events just days apart. An article
completely colored by typical bourgeois standard of writing about
disconnected events. It would be nice to read about the Qalai Janghi
slaughter within recent "historical" context--postings appreciated!
Today on KPFK 90.7 FM, Tariq Ali raised numerous questions about the
official version of the slaughter, including how hands were tied.
