I don't recall the old left characteristically criticizing "conspiracy mongering". The
anti-conspiracy theorists I have run across are liberals, libertarians and the like. I
can't see any Bolshevik denying the possibility in principle that U.S . imperialism
could be involved in a complex conspiracy in these events. But it is , of course,
difficult to prove a secret plan, because it is a secret.

Capitalism is a system, but within that system numerous heinous conspiracies are
hatched by the bourgeois state apparatuses. What is the NSC and CIA and FBI doing with
all those billions of dollars except mass producing "conspiracies" ?

Marxists attempt not to have the main aspect of their analysis hinge on such plots,
but they ignore them or think "above" them. Theory is gray and reality is multicolored
and invisible and secret.

I want to thank Jared Israel for what he has been trying to do for us. It
is not the first time that he has done this, and it is also not the first
time he has suffered from the ready-made polemical arsenal of the old left.

It can't be right to somehow silence discussion of who carried out the
WTC/Pentagon action. The rebukes administered to Jared, and anyone who
breaks this Taboo, are phrased in ways that should be recognizable to the
left; "conspiracy mongering" ,"ranting", and "discrediting", are among the
most usual terms employed. Their purpose, as always, is simply to shut down
discussion, and to frighten others on the list with the consequences of
unorthodoxy...

Perhaps it is just that people are so afraid of the implications of the
proposition that the Empire would have the will, and the determination to do
this thing. I know I am. Yet they are on the attack everywhere in the
world.

When the next terrorist "event" occurs, will we make it an article of faith
to accept their scenario again? How long before we really, seriously, weigh
the evidence ourselves, instead of howling down comrades with something
important, but very unpopular to say?

I don't agree with Jared about their goals in this global coup. I think
geopolitical control of oil is the prize .But I am always interested in his
posts, always impressed with the hard work reflected, and proud of the
courage he displays
in sticking to his guns.
