Yes, because what is linked to above won't work for anyone else because the upstream sources=() array item is not a full URL. So if I modified it slightly and someone kept the pkgver in sync with a downloadable tarball then it would actually work on any ArchLinux system.
As a side point, one reason I like ArchLinux is because the PKGBUILD is quite self descriptive and the build() can almost be used cut n paste into a shell, and the resulting binary package is simply a tarball that could be extracted (from /) on any distro. Damn, I just realized the binary URLs I used in a parent post are already out of date.
