What is the value of the node:

in your leoSettings.leo file? Not sure this is important, but I'd thought

I recommend using Leo's bzr trunk.  See:
https://code.launchpad.net/~leo-editor-team/leo-editor/trunk

You can get 'instant' bug fixes this way. bzr is a great tool.  It is well
worth the time to become comfortable with it.
