I'm following the evolution of the Qt GUI plugin, even if I didn't manage to scramble some spare time to install all the stuff it requires and see how it looks. But this shall happen for sure someday.
Since this is a plugin, enabling it would requre the user to fiddle with @enabled-plugins in config files. However, I tend to treat GUI plugins differently. A GUI plugin has a bigger impact on leo, it determines the look. I foresee that switching between different GUI plugins would require having more leo source trees or changing the configs every time. I think it would be nice to have the option of choosing the GUI from command line, at leo startup. I'm not sure how easy it would be to implement it, but this would certainly be useful. I also do realize that this would trigger changes in the plugin handling logic (since if one would specify a particular GUI in the command line, the content of @enabled-plugins should not modify this users' choice). The purpose of this thread is not to distract you from the development of the Qt plugin, but to find an easy way to choose the preferred leo GUI at startup. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "leo-editor" group.
