I use ileo for this.

- easy_install ipython
- easy_install ipython-extensions
- enable ipython.py plugin in leo
- lauch leo from command prompt
- press alt+i in leo
- in the ipython console that was just enabled, cd /some/project
- in ipython: %lshadow .
- In leo, read->read shadow nodes
