I've used the qt plugin for development for several hours with no tree problems. I would say that the plugin is now ready for testing, but *be careful*.
The only items on the urgent to-do list involve key handling. This is tricky and may take several hours. Yesterday was a turning point: the qt plugin is now easy enough to use that I was able to do numerous small-but-important items on the to-do list. In turn, this has made the qt plugin even easier to use. In short, the qt plugin is near the point where it can be used comfortably. Many features still remain to be added, but essential editing is almost ready.
