Just tried this and it worked nicely, the "wide-enough-to-dock-apps-in"
borders in the default design were bugging me :-)

No big deal, but I'm guessing as the supplied ui file evolves you'll
have to either (a) re-do your personal modifications to it in order to
remain in sync., or (b) modify you modified file as needed to match the
evolved supplied file.  With (a) probably being much easier.  Right?

Or maybe you could do some of your mods with XSLT or some such.
