I often use clones to maintain common code or text in multiple derived
files. It gets frustrating when I need to create another derived file
that needs the same common code to copy/paste a derived file node and
not have the cloned sub-nodes saved as clones. Instead, they are
saved as separate copies. I then have to delete the unwanted copies
and clone each cloned sub-node from the source derived file and then
drag them into the newly pasted derived file. Not fun.

I thought the problem would be solved by using the existing paste-
retaining-clones function. Unfortunately, the function should have
been named paste-creating-clone instead. It creates the pasted node
as a clone of the copied node instead of creating a copy that retains
the cloned sub-nodes.

Is there a solution implemented that does what I need or someone who
has the time, knowledge, and willingness to create a real "paste-
retaining-clones" function?
