Given the recent activity on the qt version of leo, I thought this
project (http://code.google.com/p/pyqtshell/) could be of interest:

"QtShell is intended to be an extension to PyQt4 providing:

- QShellWidget, a Python shell with useful options (like a '-pylab'
switch for importing matplotlib in interactive mode) and advanced
features like code completion (requires QScintilla)

- other widgets adding features to QShellWidget: workspace (globals
explorer), history explorer, multiline editor, ... "
