If someone can change the @thin / @auto parse code to return data structures instead of creating the nodes directly, we can use the md5sum based caching scheme I have presented previously instead of lazy open. This will make leoPyRef.leo and the likes open in few seconds. I'd do this completely myself, but I don't have the time ATM.
